Weinberg Campus offers an alternative for seniors when living at home is no longer a safe option. Through the Garden House Apartments, a unique setting is provided specifically for the ever changing needs of seniors.

Features of the Garden House Apartments were designed around the needs of frail seniors. Each person's habits and interests are incorporated into familiar, comfortable routines, and activities. The cozy apartments are fully furnished and include a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Three daily homemade meals are served to residents' restaurant style where they can enjoy their meal in the dining room while overlooking the Amherst Bike Path and Ellicott Creek. A personalized activities program provides group and individualized attention for residents to enjoy.

The building was structured to assist frail seniors so they have short walking distances to meals and activities. Assistance to and from meals and activities may be provided. The surrounding skylights automatically control natural lighting, smoothing light-to-dark transitions. Additional amenities include spacious common living rooms with fireplaces, enclosed and secured outdoor courtyards, and beauty shop and barber services in the apartment building, as well as greenhouses and game rooms for independent activity programs.

Families may feel at ease knowing that their mom or dad is happy and safe while residents enjoy their life at Garden House. One resident, Rachel, shares, "Every day is different. Some days I relax in the yard and others I participate in activities."

Garden House Apartments is one of eight specialized living environments at Weinberg Campus.
