7/9/2010 - Weinberg Campus Adult Social Day Program Announces New Hours

Amherst, NY, June 18, 2010: Weinberg Campus, a senior living organization providing a wide range of services, recently announced that its Social Day Program has new hours of operation. The Social Day Program is operating from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Social Day Program, similar to a senior center, provides support for caregivers and enriches the quality of life for their loved ones. The new extended hours allow caregivers additional flexibility.

The Social Day Program of Weinberg Campus has served the needs of participants and their families since 1993. "We have assisted many families during this time, enabling people to remain independent in their own homes," says Martin Jackson, RN, director of Adult Day Programs at Weinberg Campus.

Caregivers and participants both benefit from the Social Day Program. Caregivers have a greater opportunity to meet their employment needs, schedule later medical appointments for themselves, grocery shop, and tend to other errands. Participants have an increase of social interaction, personal care assistance, individualized programming, breakfast and lunch, and a decrease chance of loneliness. Participants enjoy social activities in a cheerful environment such as card games, trivia, current events, guest speakers, music entertainment, holiday gatherings, and community outings. Additionally, participants have access to amenities of Weinberg Campus, including the library, movie theater, beauty salon and barber, and special activities.

Day programs are a win-win for the individual and their family members. They allow people to have a "daily lifestyle that is more enjoyable, independent, and to live at home," said Jackson. A free trial day is offered and encouraged. Participants of the Social Day Program live in various areas of Western New York, including Amherst, Cheektowaga, North Buffalo, Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, and Williamsville.

For more information, call Martin Jackson, RN, at 716-639-3311, ext. 2457.

As Western New York's premier senior living complex located in Amherst, Weinberg Campus provides a variety of living options and customizable care programs to meet the needs of senior living, all in one location. Weinberg Campus is a non-profit organization serving all faiths and is passionate about creating home-like environments that assist individuals to live according to their changing needs and values.
