Summertime is here and our annual July outing is only a few weeks away. Please come join us at the “Taste of the Network”, on Thursday, July 15th from 12-2pm at the Amherst Senior Center. We are pleased to announce that proceeds from this event will help establish the Jerry Flaschner Scholarship Fund.
Our “Network with the Network” events continue to attract many of you before and after hours. Thank you People, Inc. and Meals on Wheels for WNY for co-hosting April’s event. We heard some very informative presentations promoting independent living. The tours of the new state of the art commissary were a highlight!
The Fairdale Banquet Center was a great venue for Social Media 101 for Aging Services Organizations. MJ Peterson, Willcare, and Buffalo Ultrasound were fine sponsors of this event complete with a continental breakfast. The topic was of high interest as reflected by the intense Q&A.
June’s event was hosted by Catholic Health. We had the opportunity to inspect their new Advanced Wound Healing Center at the Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph’s campus. What a great tour of this state of the art facility… Thank you!
The 2010 membership campaign results are in. Thank you all members of the Network Board and membership committee for a friendly, spirited first quarter drive. Because of your efforts we have six new sponsor members and five membership upgrades!
Congratulations to Dawn’s Destroyers (Co-captained by Dawn Clabeaux and Mike Straeck) for being the winning team! Also, a big thanks you to Orchard Glen and Linda Orffeo for donating a ”surf n turf” dinner for the winning team!
There were individual winners as well… Laurie Menzies came in first place, Dawn Clabeaux and Kevin Connolly tied for second, followed by Michael Olear finishing out at third. Congratulations to all!
